Coventry Woods Christmas Craft Fair and Bake Sale

The Coventry Woods Christmas Craft Fair and Bake Sale was a tremendous success.  There was a happy, festive feeling in the Amenity Room, and many people commented on this.

Many thanks to all of you that volunteered to make our Weekend a memorable one!  A big hand to all the men that helped with the set up and take down of the vendor’s area; those fabulous bakers whose donations filled the air with delicious scents of home-baked goods; and let‘s not forget the gals that tended to the sale of the baked goods. Team work at its finest.

Many guests commented on the quality of the crafts displayed by our vendors. Thank you.

Thanks also to everyone for your generous support of the Christmas Gift Baskets.  This is the third year in a row, that a Coventry Woods resident or a family member has won a Gift Basket.  It’s absolutely amazing, that with the hundreds of tickets sold for these Gift Baskets, which are valued over $ 250.00, that the winners this year, should be two of our neighbours.  Congratulations to Karen in Unit #57 and Dale in Unit #80.  Next time, the rest of us will be waiting for our names to be drawn!

Thanks to everyone who helped make the Spring Brunch on Saturday, April 13, a pleasant time for all.

It was a lovely warm evening for the 2023 Barbecue and Bocce Ball Tournament.  The Court proved challenging for both out new players and those who have participated in previous years.  Players enjoyed the challenge, and, from all accounts, a good time was had by all, including those watching from the sidelines.  As always, there were great conversations, and everyone enjoyed the fabulous assortment of food from the pot luck dinner.
The following awards went to:
2023 Bocce Ball Winners: Anne-Marie Saunders and Carol Josey
Most Sportsmanlike Team Award: Ken Genge and Lari Powell
You “Quacked Us Up” Award: Anne-Marie Saunders

Christmas in the Clubhouse

Christmas in the Clubhouse was a successful festive event this year.  Everyone enjoyed Dave Turner’s Christmas piano music and the carol singers, as well as a verygenerous Chinese food combination dinner. Betty Bartlett won the 50/50 draw, and Darlene Reston won the Santa gift from under the tree.

Many thanks to the Social Committee for decorating the clubhouse and organizing this cozy time for the community to get together.

The 2022 Christmas Craft Fair and Bake Sale was a tremendous success.
Coventry Woods has many talented people living in our community.  This was evident on Saturday, November 5 at the Craft Fair and Bake Table.  Not only did we have a fabulous amount of baked goods donated to the Bake Table, there was also a chance for residents to browse the different Craft tables, and start their Christmas shopping!  There was a wide range of goods to be offered by the different vendors.   The following pictures will give those of you who were not able to attend the Craft Fair, an idea of what the different vendors were displaying.
Thank you to the many people who supported this festive event and generously donated baked goods as well as purchasing tickets for the fabulous Gift Basket Raffle.  Tickets for the Gift Basket Raffle were $5 each, with the chance to win a gift basket valued over $200.  Congratulations to our gift basket winners, Erica Tucker and Karl Abraham.

Congratulations to the Roofing Committee (Brenda Wilson, Jack Van Dyke, Jae Smigel, and Ed Kennedy) for the fine job of keeping us informed as the work on our roofs was progressing with Cambie Roofing.

The Social Club have decorated the tree, the mantel and put up some wreaths in the Clubhouse and mailroom.  All in all, it’s looking quite festive.  The exterior lights have been turned on as well, and the front entrance is well lit and festive.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE FOOD BANK DRIVE!
Thanks to our volunteers!
